Larry Weick
Vice President—Business Development
Larry Weick has international engineering, finance, and business development experience in oil & gas, electric power, cogeneration, and process technology, ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Prior to Zilkha Biomass Energy, Mr. Weick joined the original management team as VP Business Development of Syntroleum Corporation. There he launched the international licensing and commercialization efforts for Syntroleum’s gas-to-liquids (GTL) process. He would later serve as CFO for almost two years. Previously he worked at ARCO (now BP) in finance and planning, CSW Energy (now AEP) managing IPP proposals, and co-founded various energy technology startup companies. He successfully developed Cardinal Cogen, an early PURPA project in California located on the campus of Stanford University. Prior to Cardinal Cogen, Mr. Weick was engineering supervisor for transmission engineering in a Midwest municipal utility. He also has international power system knowledge as well as experience processing forest waste to produce alternative fuels for package boilers. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Science Degree (Engineering-Economic Systems) from Stanford University. He is a member of SPE, AIPN, ASME, and IEEE, and has been licensed as a registered professional engineer. He holds several US patents.
